Orientation days 🚣

Hello! Last week, I spent 2 days in a holiday camp named Brigadoon Village near Kentville. Really cute place surrounds by lakes and forests (like all Nova Scotia actually aha!). It was an orientation before let us really live our own adventure. We were with other exchange students from the region ; 150 peoples with one interest in common, travelling. They come from all around the world : Australia, Denmark, Mexico, Thailand, Italy, Brazil,… We were 3 girls from Belgium!

Try to find meeee! (I am in the front of the photo, holding the white sign and a Belgium flag)

We separated in groups to make activities like painting, canoeing, cooking, … It was great! I met really incredible peoples!

This is all the peoples my coordinator is carrying about👌 Sunday, we’ll go together to a corn maze. Sounds greaaaat!🌽

See you soon for my next post! x

Back to school 📚

Thursday, September 3rd, back to school! I was serene, ready to learn surrounded by new walls. Luckily, I had Asli by my side!

ℑndeed, Canadians don't have the same school system as we do in Belgium. Their year is divided into semesters. Each semester, they change their courses. Canadian students begin in Grade 1 to Grade 12 🎓. But even if you're in Grade 11 you can take course of Grade 12. That's what I do 😉.
Lockers! Here are they ✌
The relationship between teachers & students is very different. They are very friendly (Sometimes too much! For some, I already know a lot about their life). For example, the first thing my biology teacher said to me is "Oh you look so gorgeous!". That's not really the kind of thing we will have in Belgium haha!😏

I've 4 courses a day but 5 different during the week. Each course lasts for 1:20. I begin school at 9 am and finish at 3:20 pm. Lunch pause lasts for 40 minutes.
* Agri-foods 11
* English 11
* Biology 12
* Global Geography 12
* Pre-cal (Advanced maths) 12

This is my school! I’ll have to work a lot. To understand the course isn’t a problem for me. The biggest problem I have is when I want to speak and I don’t find the words I would like to say 😅. And for the curious, we are 6 exchange students in AWEC. Tomorrow, I have a camp for all the international students of the region. (special thank to Janelle for the pics!😘) x

Safe & Sound 🎈

Hey! I lived my first days in Canada. I’ve so much to tell you : here we go!

This panorama was taken on the top of the Royal Mount. The view is incredible!

I spend 3 days in Montreal with other exchange students of my organisation. This town is awesome. It is alive and so peaceful because all around there are parks, forest and we are near the river Saint-Laurent. Peoples there are so lovely. I’ve great memories.

Selfie with Montreal. Yeah, I was so happy to be there!
1- Selfie of Montreal. Yeah, I was so happy to be there! 2- We had a walk in the Latin Quarter. It’s typical to climb staircases to enter in your house. It’s really charming.
Nice meal on Sainte-Catherine street. For people who know me, yeah, these french fries were pretty nice aha!

After the landing and a hug to my host mother, I spend the first day of September in Halifax. I visit the Citadel, a museum and Peggy’s Cove. It was amazing!

Great view of Halifax and his bridge on the background.
The small port of Peggy’s Cove. Cute and peaceful village.
